Downtown Central Library hiring outside services for homeless

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The San Diego Downtown Central Library is barely a decade old: young by infrastructure standards. There have been a string of overdoses in the building in the last ten years, and in 2019 a person experiencing homelessness jumped to their death from the building.

Now, the library intends to hire a social worker to help address the needs of the unhoused.

KUSI’s Logan Byrnes and Jenny Milkowski were joined by KUSI contributor and AM 600 radio host Mark Larson to talk about how San Diego seems to have prioritized homelessness above other, perhaps more pressing community matters.
