Driver carjacked at gunpoint

A driver was carjacked at gunpoint in the
Skyline neighborhood on Saturday, a police officer said.

The suspects began closely following the victim's black 2003 Chevrolet
Monte Carlo with California license plate 6ZQH259 as it headed south on Deep
Dell Road toward Paradise Valley Road about 1:15 p.m., San Diego police Officer
Gerry Waclawek said.

As the victim pulled over so the suspects' gray Ford Focus could pass,
it stopped and a gun-wielding man hopped out. He jumped into the Monte Carlo's
passenger side, and forced the driver out at gunpoint, Waclawek said.

The uninjured victim then ran to a friend's nearby residence and called
for help, according to the officer.

The suspects were last seen driving both vehicles toward Paradise Valley
Road, Waclawek said, adding that the crime may have been gang-related.

Police described the alleged carjacker as black and in his 30s. He was
wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts and black shoes.
