Driver rescued from wreckage in Vista
VISTA (CNS) – A driver was found unconscious and trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle, crashed into a tree in the center divider Saturday of a major road in Vista.
Sheriff’s deputies found the wrecked vehicle in the median of South Melrose Drive near Aspen Way shortly before 2:30 a.m., sheriff’s Sgt. Dwain Washington said.
Washington said the driver apparently had driven into the median at a high rate of speed and crashed into the tree.
Carlsbad firefighters freed the driver before he was taken to Palomar Medical Center to be treated for head and leg injuries, Washington said.
