Drunk bicyclist struck by tow truck in Pacific Beach
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A drunk 37-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when she pedaled her bicycle into the path of an on-coming tow truck in Pacific Beach Sunday.
The woman, who suffered major head and chest trauma, is expected to survive, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.
She was riding her bicycle northbound on the west curb line in the 4200 block of Mission Bay Drive at 2:55 a.m., when she turned east to cross Mission Bay Drive. She was then struck by a tow truck headed northbound.
Paramedics rushed the woman to an area hospital, Heims said. The tow truck driver was not injured.
