Dumanis lauds woman tabbed to replace retiring Lansdowne

District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis joined us on Good Morning San Diego Thursday to talk about the retirement of Police Chief William Lansdowne, and the woman tabbed as his replacement, Shelley Zimmerman.

“I think it's really exciting,” said Dumanis of Zimmerman's appointment.  “I applaud Mayor-elect Faulconer for being decisive and moving quickly.  I've known Shelley for many, many years… she's an outstanding choice.”

With regard to the resignation of Chief Lansdowne, Dumanis said, “I think he struggled with the decision, but he did what he thought was in the best interests of the city of San Diego and the San Diego Police Department.  He loves both of them.”
