East County Game of the Week: Francis Parker vs. Monte Vista

In the first round of playoffs, the East County Game of the Week will feature the Francis Parker Lancers (5-5) and the Monte Vista Monarchs (6-4) in the Division III CIF San Diego Section Playoff. Kickoff is scheduled at 7pm at Monte Vista High School.

The 9th seed team, Francis Parker, will be traveling 19 miles southeast to face the Monarchs. Parker had a great game against Horizon last week beating the Panthers 58-46. Lancers quarterback, Khaleel Jenkins scored six rushing touchdowns that night, giving himself and the Parker team the momentum they need going into this first round.

Monte Vista ended their regular season with a tough loss against West Hills last week fighting for the Grossmont Valley League Championship. The Monarchs lost to the Wolf Pack 21-13. The Monarch offense struggled with unforced errors however, Monte Vista’s running back, Lee Wade, had and impressive running game putting two touchdowns on the board. Monte Vista has the home field advantage and the drive to perform at their best for this Friday’s game.
