East County Game of the Week: West Hills 23, Valhalla 20

The East County game of the week lived up to its reputation with an overtime thriller between Valhalla high school and West Hills high, with both teams looking to extend their winning streak to three games. After leading the entire game, West Hills fell behind in overtime by field goal until Wolf Pack senior running back Jacob Shaw plunged into the end-zone on third and goal for the game winning touchdown, 23-20.

Wolf Pack junior quarterback Spencer Moyer hit fellow junior receiver Taj Broomfield on a screen play from midfield that went down to the 5-yard line to open the game. Moyer gave Carr is due on the next play with a play action fake and deep pass down the field, finding Carr wide open for the touchdown, it’s 17-7 Wolf Pack.

In the fourth quarter, Carr came up with another huge play, intercepting a deep Naseh pass at the goal-line to protect the lead.
