East County power outage

More than 900 people in a wide swath of rural East County
near the U.S.-Mexico border were deprived of electrical power during stormy
conditions Monday, SDG&E officials said.

The utility said 969 customers in portions of Dulzura, Potrero, Campo,
Japatul Valley, Buckman Springs, Morena Village, Live Oak Springs, Boulevard
and Jacumba had their electricity cut off.

SDG&E estimated power would be restored by 5:05 p.m.

The cause of the power outage was under investigation.
