Eastlake 45, Chula Vista 0

Week Eight in the books and a South Bay battle between Eastlake vs. Chula Vista High School ended in a tough loss for the Spartans falling against the Titans at home on senior night 45-0. Eastlake improves to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in Metro-Mesa League play. While Chula Vista drops to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 on the 2014 season.

Chula Vista kicked off to begin the game and pulled out the onside kick trick or treat two week early and recovered the ball. But the drive would stall and the Spartans settled for a field goal attempt that was blocked by Eastlake. That summed up a dismal night for Chula Vista to say the least. The Titans went right down the field and capped off the drive with Isaiah Strayhorn scoring from four yards out to take a 7-0 lead and never look back.

Eastlake continued to be rude guests and scored five rushing touchdowns in the first quarter and a half to cruise past Chula Vista. The Titans will host Bonita Vista next week in a battle for first place in league play the Barons are 2-0. Spartans will try and snap their skid they will play host to Olympian. It will be their final home game of the season, Spartans will close out the year Halloween night at Otay Ranch.
