EL CAJON: 7-Eleven robbery suspects arrested

EL CAJON (CNS) – A suspect in four armed robberies at 7-Eleven stores in
the East County, three of which occurred within one hour, and the alleged
getaway driver were arrested at a Lakeside residence Wednesday.

Forrest Gunner Fermil and Kailee Ray were both arrested without incident
about 3 p.m. in the 10000 block of Vista Parque in Lakeside, El Cajon police
Lt. J.D. Arvan said.

A suspect in a distinct red skull-type mask armed with what appeared to
be a black semi-automatic handgun allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven at 355 Jamacha
Road about 2:20 a.m. Monday, Arvan said.

Similar suspect descriptions were given in two other early-morning
robberies at convenience stores, one shortly before 3 a.m. Monday at 735 E.
Bradley Ave. in an unincorporated area outside El Cajon, then about 15 minutes
later at 10205 Lake Jennings Park Road in Lakeside, Arvan said.

That suspect was also believed to have committed another armed robbery
at 1498 Jamacha Road in an unincorporated area near El Cajon early Saturday,
according to Arvan.

According to Arvan, police on Tuesday developed a promising lead on a
suspect and worked in conjunction with investigators from the sheriff's Santee
Station to identify a suspect.

“The suspect was located at a residence in Lakeside and taken into
custody without incident,” Arvan said. “As the investigation continued, an
accomplice, believed to have been the getaway driver, was also identified and
arrested without incident at the same location.”

Both suspects were booked into jail, Arvan said.
