El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells looks forward to 2021

EL CAJON (KUSI) – El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss how El Cajon faired in 2020 and what people can expect in 2021.

Wells said the City distributed $2.2 million in local small business grants for essential, non-essential, and restaurant businesses all located in El Cajon. Also handed out $800,000 in utility and rental assistance to El Cajon residents impacts by COVID-19, with additional funding slated to be distributed next year.

The City also restructured city hall services and placed all “public facing” services in the lobby, including our Permit Assistance Center (PAC) and created proper social distancing provisions, according to Wells.

El Cajon also introduced a smart phone app specifically for the public to report issues directly to the pertinent city department.
