El Camino lineman DJ Ingram diagnosed with Leukemia

Tonight, the (8) seeded El Camino Wildcats travel to Spring Valley to take on the (2) seeded Steele Canyon Cougars with a trip to the CIF San Diego Section Division 1 semi-finals on the line.

However, the biggest storyline surrounding tonight’s game goes beyond the sport of football. This past Monday, the entire El Camino family was hit hard by devastating news involving a member of the Wildcat Varsity football team.

Senior OL/DL Divante’ (DJ) Ingram was diagnosed with an Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very rare form of cancer for someone his age.

DJ is currently undergoing aggressive chemo therapy. He will be in the hospital for the next 24 days and is not allowed further visitations due to the rigors of the treatment and his compromised immune system. His spirits are high and he greatly appreciates all of the prayers and continued support.

In addition to the continued prayers, anyone who wishes to help DJ through this struggle can participate in the upcoming blood drive at El Camino High School, Saturday November 29th from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

DJ will need several more blood transfusions and is in great need of TYPE A and TYPE O blood.

A fund has also been set up at Mission Federal Credit Union under the name of “Divante “DJ” Ingram, AML fund”.

The Prep Pigskin Report SHOUTS its loudest encouragement to the entire Ingram family and all of El Camino High School. We hope that you will join us in supporting DJ and his fight against cancer.
