Elderly pedestrian struck by car in Colina del Sol

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – An investigation was under way Tuesday in Colina del Sol, where an 82-year-old pedestrian suffered a life-threatening head injury when he was struck by a car.

The man was struck by a Toyota Camry while attempting to cross the 5000 block of University Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The driver, a man in his 30s who remained at the scene, violated the pedestrian’s right of way, Delimitros said in a statement.
