Elderly pedestrian struck by car in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – An 88-year-old man suffered a serious head injury Thursday when he was struck by a car in an Oceanside crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian was struck while crossing College Boulevard at Thunder Drive about 7:30 a.m., according to Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby.

Paramedics took him to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. The driver, an Oceanside man, was shaken up but not injured, Cosby said.
