Electrical fire damages Pacific Honda showroom

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A Kearny Mesa Honda dealership suffered a half million dollars worth of damage after an electrical fire broke out Friday morning.

According to firefighters, the fire broke out in the used car showroom at Pacific Honda just after 1 a.m.

Despite the building being surrounded on three sides by vehicles, a group of 35 firefighters were able to battle and and extinguish the fire in around 20 minutes.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Lee Swanson estimated damages of $250,000 to the building, $200,000 to the contents of the building, and $50,000 to an SUV and exposures surrounding the building.
