Emergency crews rescue construction worker trapped in collapsed trench

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Emergency crews rescued a construction worker who was trapped in a trench that collapsed Friday afternoon.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the worker was in a trench in front of a house on Elsa Road in Grantville was it collapsed and trapped him up to his waist.

The worker seemed uninjured and declined medics’ offer for a hospital evaluation.
