Escondido driver killed after crashing into tree

ESCONDIDO (KUSI) – A driver died Monday evening in Escondido after swerving into the center divide, into a tree.

According to Escondido Police, the call came in around 7:30 p.m. at Country Club Lane and Broadway Dr. 

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, but was trapped in the vehicle. Police were working to extricate the victim so they could determine what went wrong.
