Escondido family seeks donations after losing home in fire

ESCONDIDO (KUSI) – An Escondido family lost their home and three pets in a house fire last week, and are now asking for donations as they begin to rebuild.

Donations are already flooding in after a fire on Friday destroyed everything the Flores family owned.

The father, Andy Flores, suffered minor burns trying to save his dogs, the surviving pets also all suffer from burns sustained in the blaze.

“We’re a family and we’re going to stick together and try to help them as best as we can,” says Vicki Feria, Andy’s mother.

The family is requesting donations of clothes, shoes and backpacks for their 12- and 5-year-old sons, and clothes and diapers for their infant daughter.  The parents are also in need of clothes, toiletries and blankets.

The donations can be dropped off at 931 E 17th ave, Escondido (921025).
