Escondido High School placed on temporary lockdown after stabbing in area, suspect at large
ESCONDIDO (KUSI) – Escondido High School was placed on a 15-minute lockdown Wednesday after a 17-year-old was stabbed near the campus.
According to police, the stabbing in the 1600 block of North Broadway was reported shortly before 1 p.m.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment or minor injuries, said Lt. Al Owens.
The attacker, who remained at large in the mid-afternoon, was described as a Latino who appeared to be in his 20s. He reportedly fled to the north in an older-model sedan.
The motive for the assault was unknown, the lieutenant said.
