Escondido man wounded in a shooting

ESCONDIDO (CNS) – A man was wounded Monday in a shooting on a roadside near Felicita Elementary School.

The gunfire erupted during a struggle between the victim and another man in the 300 block of West 15th Avenue about 1 p.m., according to police.

Medics took the wounded man to a hospital for treatment of at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen, Lt. Tom Albergo said.

The assailant remained at large in the mid-afternoon, the lieutenant said.
