Escondido woman arrested for allegedly stabbing step-mother to death

ESCONDIDO (CNS) – A 35-year-old woman is in custody on suspicion
of stabbing her 54-year-old stepmother to death in Escondido, police said.

Asiatae Belle of Escondido was arrested on suspicion of murder Wednesday
in connection with the death earlier in the day of Monette Belle, also of
Escondido, according to the Escondido Police Department.

The victim was found covered in blood and not moving inside an apartment
in the 700 block of North Grape Street about 2:15 p.m., EPD Lt. Neal Griffin
said in a statement. She had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at
the scene, according to the lieutenant.

The motive was under investigation.
