5th Annual Toast to the Coast Luau to support San Diego Oceans & Beaches
5050 Soledad Rd.
Sand Straw is proud to sponsor Hearts for San Diego’s fifth annual Toast to the Coast Luau on June 1, 2018 at the Soledad Club in La Jolla, CA. This fundraiser is scheduled from 6PM to 10PM and will benefit local nonprofit, $1 for the Ocean. Ocean lovers 21+ are welcome to this special event featuring Polynesian dancers, lei greetings, a champagne toast, Luau Olympics games and closing ceremony, raffle prizes, a silent auction and more.
Sand Straw was founded in La Jolla, CA by John Weil and Brian Ruthenberg who wanted to offer a solution to all the plastic straws polluting the ocean. Their eco-friendly straws are made from a lightweight stainless steel that are machine washable and recyclable. Each straw represents a different animal affected by ocean pollution. With each purchase, Sand Straw donates 10% of their net profits to an organization that supports that animal.
Founder of Sand Straw, John Weil, says “Every straw makes a difference and what better way to raise both awareness and funding for such a worthy cause.” Event Organizer and Founder of Hearts for San Diego, Karen Moy, says “Every year, San Diegans demonstrate their support for protecting our oceans and marine life by joining the Luau. It’s such a joy for our team, our sponsors, and the community at large to celebrate our cause while enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the very ocean we are protecting. We’re excited for another exciting and successful event!”
