Exclusive look inside drug tunnel between U.S. and Mexico

OTAY MESA (KUSI) — Border Patrol officials gave KUSI’s Dan Plante an exclusive look inside a smuggling tunnel that runs between the San Diego-Mexico border.

In this case, the tunnel was shut down before it could reach a warehouse in Otay Mesa. But for every tunnel the Border Patrol finds, there is another one out there they may not find.

Every year these tunnels are used to smuggle billions of dollars worth of drugs between the countries — mostly meth, heroin and marijuana.

KUSI’s Dan Plante was the only reporter in San Diego to get access to these tunnels, and he has all the details in this Special Report.
