Exonerated man embraces newfound freedom
Thirty-three-year-old Uriah Courtney spent eight years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Courtney was convicted of attacking a 16-year-old San Diego girl in 2004 and sentenced to life in prison.
DNA tests at the time offered no meaningful results, but the California Innocence Project recently obtained new advanced testing, and after these new test results showed DNA from the victim's clothing matched another felon who lived in the area, the charges were dropped and Courtney was set free.
Uriah Courtney and his family joined us on Good Morning San Diego Friday to talk about their 8-year nightmare and how they're recovering now that Uriah has been exonerated.
