Extra trolleys for Seau memorial at the Q

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Extra trolleys will be put into service on the Green
Line to accommodate fans who want to pay their respects to the late Chargers
linebacker Junior Seau at Friday's memorial, the Metropolitan Transit System has
announced.

The added trains will leave the Old Town Transit Center for Qualcomm
Stadium beginning at 3:45 p.m., and depart the 70th Street Station starting at
4:30 p.m., according to the MTS.

The agency said its trains will have more cars, because of the large
crowd that is expected.

Seau died Wednesday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest at
his Oceanside home, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's
Office. His play and off-field charity work made him one of San Diego's top
sports icons.

Since his death, fans have left flowers, jerseys and footballs at
makeshift memorials outside his home, his namesake Seau's The Restaurant, and
at the many sports fields around the region that were sponsored by his
foundation.

Friday's public memorial service begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include
special guests who will share stories about the impact the Oceanside native had
on them and others, according to the Chargers.

A private church service is planned Thursday in Oceanside.
