Fake flyers along 30th street claim everyone wants bike lanes

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A new development in the battle between parking and bike lanes in North Park.

Over the weekend, fake flyers were posted in the area claiming that everyone, including the group Save 30th Street Parking, is now in favor of bike lanes. The reality is that many residents, businesses and disability advocates are still against the project.

The “30th Street Protected Bikeways Mobility Project” calls for the replacement of more than 420 parking spaces with a protected bike lane along a 1.7-mile stretch of 30th St. between Howard Ave. and Juniper St., with a possible extension to Adams Ave.
