Fallbrook 55, Serra 0
Fallbrook doubled-down on their hot start with an emphatic 55-0 road win over Serra.
Second-year coach Kyle Williams had to like what he saw from the Warriors, as the Wing-T system he installed in his debut campaign proved to be unstoppable for the Conquistadors.
Even with a running clock for the entire fourth quarter, and some of the third, Fallbrook still racked up 55 points. Combined with their opening win over University City, the Warriors have posted a total score of 97-18.
The Wing-T offense featured a wide variety of contributors. On one drive in the fourth quarter, four different ball-carriers helped propel the ball forward. Seam after seam opened for the Warrior backs, as the up-tempo pace kept the Conquistador defense on its heels. Oscar Ruvalcaba, Steven Branham, and Bryce Olivo moved Fallbrook into the red zone, where Josh Heisemen capped the drive with an 11-yard scamper and a 3-yard touchdown plunge.
The final tally came from the Fallbrook defense. Antonio Gomez forced a fumble, and Matthew Kinzie scooped up the bouncing ball for a 12-yard touchdown return that made the score 55-0.
Next week, Fallbrook looks to maintain its early-season momentum while hosting La Jolla High. And Serra faces a daunting trip to a Rancho Bernado squad that has dominated both San Pasqual and Del Norte.
