Two injured in Fallbrook brawl

FALLBROOK (CNS) – Two people were hospitalized with stab wounds Monday following an apparent gang-related brawl involving 50-plus people Sunday in Fallbrook, authorities said.

The melee in the 300 block of North Main Avenue, near North Pico Avenue, was reported at about 5:30 p.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Marco Garmo.

When deputies arrived, the crowd was gone but minutes later, Fallbrook Hospital staff notified authorities that two stabbing victims had come in for treatment, Garmo said.

The two victims were airlifted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for further treatment, he said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.

Initial reports of at least four stabbing victims were incorrect, he said.
