Fallbrook teen stabbed after being chased by 3 suspects

FALLBROOK (KUSI) – 19-year-old Marquez Dunnigan was chased by three people and stabbed several times Saturday at 7:06 p.m. in Fallbrook, Sgt. Dwain Washington said. The victim is being treated at Palomar Hospital for his injuries. Police discovered Dunningan at a Union 76 gas station.

Dunnigan and his 22-year-old friend, identified as Edward Collier, were chased by three men after one of the suspects tried to sell them marijuana, according to Washington. Collier escaped the assault through an open field next to the gas station, but one of the suspects caught and stabbed Dunnigan before he could also flee the alleged attackers.

Deputies discovered evidence behind an apartment building at 1128 S. Vine St., though officials did not discuss what was recovered from the scene.

Deputies contacted two unidentified subjects possibly related to the assault. Both were intoxicated and arrested on unrelated charges, Washington said. An investigation of the stabbing incident and suspects is ongoing.
