Family Business — Swami’s Cafe

KUSI’s Allie Wagner was live at Swami’s Cafe in Hillcrest for Family Business Thursday.

The popular San Diego-born healthy breakfast & lunch destination Swami’s Cafe has opened its 10th area location within the 4,500-square-foot space that last housed Busalacchi’s A Modo Mio in Hillcrest.

Owner Jaime Osuna opened his first Swami’s location on Highway 101 in Encinitas in 1998, offering a breakfast and lunch menu centered around healthier options and dishes made with fresh local ingredients.

Osuna has since opened eight additional Swami’s outposts in San Diego County – in North Park, Point Loma’s Midway District, Carlsbad, La Mesa, Poway, Encinitas Inland, Oceanside, and Escondido – plus Honey’s Bistro & Bakery in Encinitas. An 11th Swami’s is currently being installed at 20 Main Street in downtown Vista Village.
