Feeding San Diego to offer free summer meals to hungry kids
David Davis sat down with Vince Hall from Feeding San Diego to talk about the organization’s plans to feed kids during the summer.
In San Diego County, 1 in 6 children face hunger. That’s over 127,000 food insecure youth, many of whom lose access to vital school meals over the long summer months.
Feeding San Diego is working to fill that meal gap by offering these free summer meals and snacks to any children between 1 and 18 who participate. There are no forms to fill out.
There will be 15 sites across San Diego open to children struggling with hunger.
Food Service Program (SFSP), a critical part of its Fuel for Summer campaign. This program provides critical support throughout the summer to ensure that kids are getting the nutrition they need to live healthy and productive lives.
