‘Festival of Trees’ to auction off Christmas trees to benefit San Diego’s HIV/AIDS community

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The first annual Festival of Trees event will be auctioning off 20 expertly-decorated and donated artificial trees and delivering them to winners’ homes this holiday season.

The event, taking place Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at InsideOUT, will benefit Being Alive SD, a local nonprofit that provides imperative HIV/AIDS and related services throughout San Diego County.

Bobby Gordon, Chair of the Festival of Trees 2021, joined KUSI’s Elizabeth Alvarez on Good Morning San Diego to discuss the event.

A silent auction and travel raffle will also be taking place at the event, located at 1642 University Ave.

The event will serve as the premier holiday kick-off event for the LGBTQ+ community.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, City Council Pro Tem Stephen Whitburn, and RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars Season 1 winner Chad Michaels will all be in attendance.
