Fifty-seven people, 800 pounds of narcotics captured from maritime smugglers

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – This past weekend, authorities were called to seven different cases where dozens of people in boats filled with narcotics washed up on shore.

In the last few days, six vessels, 57 people and nearly 800 pounds of narcotics were seized from maritime smugglers from Coronado to Torrey Pines.

The people being smuggled range in age from juveniles to men and women in their 40s and come from different countries all over the world.

Authorities are urging San Diego residents to be aware of these smugglers and report any suspicious activity.
