Filmmaker creates documentary about El Paso Walmart mass shooting

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – This past week was the one-year anniversary of the El Paso Walmart mass shooting. Just a couple of weeks before that, San Diego saw their own mass shooting anniversary and the one thing a filmmaker from New York believes has been overlooked are how the two incidents are eerily similar.

Charlie Minn did a documentary about the 1984 San Ysidro Massacre from inside a McDonald’s titled 77 Minutes, and now has completed a documentary about the El Paso Walmart mass shooting.

Minn joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss the simularities he found between the two mass shootings. He also said three out of the top 10 mass shootings in American history deal with Hispanics being targeted and looked into why that has happened.
