Fire breaks out in North Park home, one person transported to hospital

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – At least one person became trapped inside a burning home in North Park tonight, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed.

Firefighters were called to a single-family home at 3553 Alabama St. just before 9 p.m. When they arrived flames and smoke were visible from the street.

The person in the home was a female who is also disabled. She has been transported to the hospital, the extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.

The fire was put out by 9:12 p.m., and there is an arson investigation underway.
