Fire crews on high alert after dangerous conditions

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The National Weather Service is warning of hot and dry conditions this week, prompting fire crews countywide are preparing for a potential Red Flag Warning.

Red Flag Warnings alert fire departments of the onset, or possible onset, of critical weather and dry conditions that could lead to rapid or dramatic increases in wildfire activity.

The past few days have already seen several fires all over the state, and firefighters are working fast to keep up.

Fire departments are not the only ones preparing; California’s largest utility PG&E said Monday it’s considering shutting off power this week to about a half million people to try and prevent wildfires ignited by electrical equipment.
