Fire crews expect to contain Camp Pendleton brush fires
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Two wildfires burned that burned 30 acres in Camp Pendleton were expected to be contained Sunday evening.
Both fires, which were reported around 1:30 p.m. were burning close together on the southern portion of the base near the golf course.
Crews began fighting the flames on the ground, but had to call in aircraft assistant.
According to Camp Pendleton Director of Public Affairs Jason Johnston, crews don’t expect ground conditions or weather to impact the fire.
No injuries were reported and no structures are in danger.
The cause of the fire is under the investigation.
