Fire damages East County mobile-home park

EL CAJON (CNS) – An early afternoon fire extensively damaged an unoccupied residence in an East County mobile-home park.

The non-injury blaze in the 700 block of South Second Street in El Cajon erupted shortly before 1 p.m., city spokeswoman Monica Zech said. Firefighters had the flames under control within 10 minutes of arrival and were able to keep them from spreading to other structures, she said.

Investigators set the damages at $20,000.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
