Fire destroys apartment in Santee
SANTEE (CNS) – A two-alarm fire tore through an apartment building in Santee Friday afternoon.
Residents of the building on Mission Gorge Road near Cottonwood Avenue were evacuated after the fire was reported around 1:40 p.m., according to Heartland Fire & Rescue and the county sheriff’s department.
As of 3:30 p.m., investigators remained on scene working to determine the cause of the blaze, a Heartland Fire & Rescue dispatcher said. It was not immediately clear how many units were affected.
