Fire reported off Cabrillo (163) Freeway

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A fire broke out in a storm drain underneath the Laurel Street Bridge on the Cabrillo Freeway Sunday.

First responders reported smoke came from a storm drain underneath the bridge, San Diego Fire and Rescue said. All units were advised to converge at Tenth and Robinson, while the California Highway Patrol assisted traffic at the Robinson Avenue exit.

The fire has been upgraded to a first alarm fire.
