Firefighters put out blaze in Chula Vista

Firefighters put out a brush fire in Chula Vista on Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out in a canyon near East H street.

Residents reported a strong fire smell and ashes.

Fire officials say the fire burned up a hill of that canyon. A team of 33 fire engines fought the blaze and protected nearby structures.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
