First American bilateral amputee traveled the Mississippi River by canoe to raise awareness to disabled veterans

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A couple from michigan just completed the journey of a lifetime all to raise awareness to disabled veterans and adults.

In may Nate and Christa denofre set off on a 109-day adventure to paddle the entire length of the Mississippi river.

The couple joined Good Morning San Diego to share some of the obstacles they faced and how they overcame them.
