First Bitcoin ATM machine comes to San Diego
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A restaurant near City Hall and a jewelry store in the Gaslamp Quarter are the first business in San Diego to have a Bitcoin ATM.
It’s being called the emergence of digital currency.
The restaurant is downtown Johnny Brown’s, in the Civic Center Plaza.
Next the ATM machine there is a new and smaller ATM machine. It’s the Bitcoin ATM.
Bitcoin is universal with no credit or debit card restrictions.
For businesses this means no middle man, and no bank transaction fees of two to four cents per transaction.
Bitcoin is used worldwide, and with San Diego being a travel destination, perhaps the Bitcoin ATM machine will become more common in San Diego businesses.
