Five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer hits double digits for the first time

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths, and will be the second leading cause of death this decade.

But there is some exciting news: The American Cancer Society says the survival rate is going up, bringing the five-year survival rate to 10 percent.

Fifteen-year pancreatic cancer survivor Stu Rickerson was in studio to discuss this breakthrough.
