Flight inbound from Las Vegas struck by lightning

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Southwest Airlines Flight 1783 from McCarran International Airport to San Diego International Airport sustained a lightning strike Thursday while inbound to San Diego International Airport and landed safely and routinely, a Southwest spokesperson confirmed.

The aircraft is out of service for inspections. Customers scheduled for Flight 518 from San Diego International Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International will be accommodated on another aircraft after an approximately two hour delay.
