Former dean accuses SDSU president of using ‘political litmus test’ for jobs
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A former dean at San Diego State’s Fowler School of Business is accusing SDSU’s president of using a “political litmus test” for top jobs.
Lance Nail made the accusation before stepping down from his position as the dean.
He claims the president, Adela De La Torre, told him: “If you’re not a Democrat and don’t support unions, there will be no place for you in education in California.”
President De La Torre issued this statement regarding the claim: “I, however, unequivocally deny that statement. Diversity and inclusion have been a focus and priority at every level during my presidency, meaning I appreciate the identities and perspectives of every one of our students, faculty, and staff.”
