Former KUSI entertainment reporter Fred Saxon has passed away

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Once again– we have some very sad news about a former member of the KUSI family.

Long time entertainment reporter Fred Saxon has passed away at the age of 76.

Before coming to San Diego and KUSI– Fred was the first entertainment reporter for CNN.

From 1991-2000 Fred Saxon was seen daily on KUSI-TV in San Diego, first on the “KUSI News at Ten”, then on the “KUSI Morning News”, the top-rated local morning television program.

As entertainment anchor he interviewed celebrities, reviewed movies, and reported on Hollywood and the local arts community.

Over the years– he interviewed big names like Harrison Ford– Morgan Freeman and Joan Rivers.

Along with being a well-respected movie critic– he was also an accomplished musician and music producer.

For those who knew him– he was simply a good and decent person.
