Former SD Center for Children employee set to be arraigned on child molestation charges

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A former supervisor at a nonprofit academy for
troubled youths in Kearny Mesa is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on child
molestation charges.

Kettrell Berry, 49, who worked for nine years at the San Diego Center
for Children before being fired last month, was arrested Friday.

David McCaslin, the center's chief executive officer, said the
allegations appear to center around contact Berry had with a female student.

Berry was booked into jail on 25 counts, including sex with a minor and
lewd and lascivious acts involving a victim 14 or 15 years of age.

He was held on $1.12 million bail pending this afternoon's arraignment,
when he will be asked to plead to the charges.
