Fraternities suspended at SDSU after student is hospitalized

UNIVERSITY CITY (KUSI) – The president of San Diego State University has suspended all 14 inter-fraternity council fraternities amid an investigation.

The suspension comes after a medical incident involving a freshman living at the Tenochca Residence hall.  Reportedly, a Phi Gamma Delta fraternity pledge student was taken to hospital after being found early this morning suffering from a medical emergency following a fraternity event the night before.

The university and campus police are investigating the incident as fraternity hazing, and sources from the Daily Aztec says this is one of seven fraternities already under investigation; this was the latest incident to prompt mass suspensions.
