Free Summer Lunch Program kick off BBQ

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The City of San Diego and San Diego Unified School District have once again partnered to offer free summer lunches to kids and teens 18 and younger weekdays all summer long.

Participation is free and no registration or verification is required.

The City of San Diego will be kicking off the program with a community kick off BBQ later that morning starting at 10:30 am at Penn Athletic Field with burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, corn on the cob and seedless watermelon.

There will also be activities for the kids including crafts, face painting, fitness camp, a circus performance by Fern Street Circus and more.
